First Half
The 1st half saw both teams compete hard to gain an advantage with few opportunities despite MK trying to force openings through Scrum Half Dan Pearson and Fly Half Andy Williamson linking well together. MK forwards gave a penalty away in front of the posts which the Beaconsfield 10 converted. MK hit right back with a penalty of there own converted by Phil Powell Score 3-3.The First try was scored by Beaconsfield when after a good backs move saw the winger go over in the corner, unconverted, Score 3-8. MK replied with a try of there own when the ball came loose 5 meters from the try line and number 8 Steve Christie gathered and scored, the tricky kick was missed.
H/T: Firsts 8 - 8 Beaconsfield
Second Half
The Second Half started much of the same as the 1st, MK trying to find holes in the Beaconsfield defence. Good play by the backs created more chances but poor handling errors meant MK couldn’t get ahead which was frustrating from the sideline. MK made a change with Dafydd Bretherton coming on for Andy Poole, this able them to change the back line around with Powell moving to Stand Off and Williamson into the Centres. As the game went on MK seem to take more control and with 10 minutes to go Bretherton crossed the line to score the 1st try of the Second Half, converted by Phil Powell. Score 15-8. MK continued to put the pressure on Beaconsfield and good link play with forwards and backs saw Winger Dan Walker go over the line to score, converted by Phil Powell.
Next week see MK1st xv away to Buckingham in the League.
