This has always been a tough away game for Milton Keynes, not having won in the past. It was different on Saturday with Milton Keynes being dominant throughout the match.
Within 3 minutes MK were 7 points up. A Chipping Norton scrum was stolen by Dan Pearson and the ball was shipped out down the back line allowing Andy Champs to score. Phil Powell, who had a good day with the boot, converted the try.
For the first 20 minutes Chipping Norton were unable to break into the MK half. From the kick off following the try the ball was passed to Andy Poole and on to Stuart Tomkinson who crashed over near to the posts for a try, converted by Phil Powell.
The forwards dominated the tight play with some excellent mauling taking place. A further score occurred when the pack won a Chipping Norton line out close to their line. An excellent piece of work by the forwards allowed the hooker Rob Conway to burrow his way over the try line. With the conversion the score was 21 – 0.
A good interchange of handling occurred soon after between the back line with the ball being passed from Dave Matthews, Dan Pearson, Sam Viggers and onto Andy Champ to score his second try. Conversion by Phil Powell.

Milton Keynes sat back on their lead with no further scoring until midway through the second half. Chipping Norton scored a consolation penalty due to persistent poor discipline by the Milton Keynes team.
Dan Pearson got his name on the scorecard with a sniping run through the backs and scored under the posts making the score 35 – 3, with the conversion.
The final score came from an Andy Poole break with a pass to Terry Woodall who completed a satisfying afternoon for Milton Keynes. With the last 7 points of the game City head the league with two impressive wins. They will meet Tadley at Field Lane next Saturday which will prove to be a greater test of their rugby skills.
