This was probably the most exciting game of this season, with result in the balance right to the final whistle.

Full of incidents and an unbelievable second half extra time of 19 minutes, there were several injury stoppages, but nothing to warrant 19 minutes.

The added zest of this game being the last league to be played at Field Lane, before the move to Emerson Valley on 26th March.

Milton Keynes kicked off, and were soon commanding the game, a superbly executed rolling ball and the home pack were in for the first try, the touch down by Andy Champ, Aylesbury replied with their own try, the winger running half the length of the field alluding all attempts to tackle him, he scored in the corner, both kickers missed their chance of the extra 2 points, so it was honours even.

Next score was back to the home side with a copy of the first try, Milton Keynes have mastered the push over try to an art form and took the lead once again, touch down by Kerien McConnell, Phil Powell added the extra points.

Aylesbury back in the thick of it again and camping in the Milton Keynes 22 metre, where awarded 3 penalties all taken as tapped penalties and scoring on the 3rd attempt, there missed conversion left Milton Keynes with a slender lead of 2 points.

On the half hour Milton Keynes lost their second row to the yellow card and 3 minutes later Aylesbury felt the same fate losing their second row.

The game went from end to end and then a great try just when you need it was needed, 2 minutes before the half time break Dave Matthews, assisted by his fellow 3`s, scored near the posts, Phil Powell on target again and Milton Keynes went into the break 19-10 to the good.

Second half started with teams respecting the skills of their opposition it took 20 minutes of play before, after a massive attack by Aylesbury finally broke through with a converted try.

The lead back to just 2 points and it was obvious that this would not be enough to hang on to. Milton Keynes came back once again and with some great inter-passing Andy Poole finished off the move to score, Phil Powell added the conversion.

Now on 40 minutes and with several injury stoppages in the half it was clear there should have been 5 or 6 minutes added on, but this was not to be. Aylesbury struck again this time from the number 13 winger scoring far out, the conversion hit the upright, the score moved on to 26—22 to the home side.

Milton Keynes started to close the game down, Aylesbury gave away an off side penalty, Captain Richard Hill called up Phil Powell to successfully add 3 points.

Milton Keynes now had a lead of 7 points but the referee continued to play on, a full 15 minutes played and Aylesbury were not finished with their days work, and came back into the game with their 5th try of the afternoon, the vital conversion missed and Milton Keynes won the day at
29-27.

Next week Milton Keynes are away to Broadmoor Staff.
