Milton Keynes cruised into a 19 point 3 try rout within the first 15 minutes, almost from the kick off Milton Keynes secured the ball, took the option of going down the narrow side and Dan Pearson made the last 20 metres to the corner, after crossing the line, he headed for the centre to make life easier for Phil Powell to add 2 points. Next up, this time, from the centre field players, and a neat slip pass to Nick Allen scoring under the posts, easy meat for the extra points, courtesy of Phil Powell.
Finally from the forwards, getting into the act, Rob Conway took the last pass with, the whole pack involved in the action to make it to the line, first miss for Mr Powell.
At this stage Broadmoor Staff decided that they had not travelled all the way to North of Bucks, just to take a beating, and fought their way back into the game, camping on the home side try line, only courageous tackling kept them out, Milton Keynes then charged back up field, this time Phil Powell took the whole 7 points with try and conversion.
To round of the last 22 minutes Milton Keynes added another 19 point session, Dan Pearson`s second try finished off a full three quarter move, Dave Matthews scored an almost identical try and to round of the half, a great try down the wing for 40 metres, Scott Aspinall scored the best try of the afternoon, Phil Powell successful with 2 out 3 on the conversions.
A satisfying first half from the home team, with a comfortable lead of 45 points.
Second half and Broadmoor Staff looked like a completely different side, they came out on the attack from the kick off and hit the defending try line with force, incredible defence by the Milton Keynes side managed to keep them at bay, it took 15 minutes to break the charge and a skilful move by the 3`s and Nick Allen scored his second try, Phil Powell missed the posts and the score moved on to the half century.
Broadmoor then camped in the home side 25 metres for a full 20 minutes, using their heavy pack, that had to be at least an average of at least 2 stone per man over the Field Lane side, their tactic was to batter their way over the line using the big guys, but Milton Keynes held firm taking the play into the full field to break up the pressure. It was 2 minutes from time when Milton Keynes scored the final try, through Phil Powell taking his tally to 2, conversion missed and almost on the whistle Broadmoor Staff scored a consolation try.
An exhausting, yet satisfactory afternoons efforts for Milton Keynes.
