With the sun shining, the game kicked off at 15:00, it was a friendly match with unlimited interchanges making an opportunity for all players on both sides to get some game time. The ref was on loan from California is the USA and allowed a good flowing game to evolve.
After just seven minutes, Gavin Whitehead scored under the posts from a great backs move to put MK ahead by 7-0. Solid forward play from Ampthill made it difficult for MK to get much ball but after a knock on by Ampthill in the MK 22, once again Gavin broke the line and scored a second try out wide to put the score at 12-0.
Ampthill came back with a vengence and once again solid forward play was the flavour of the day, as a result of another forwards maul led to a 33rd Min unconverted try to Ampthill putting the score at 12-5
A penalty to MK right on the whistle saw MK leading 15-5 at half time.
The second half began pretty much the same as the first and after sustained attacks from Ampthill, MK finally got the break with Colin Targett driving over in the forwards in the 54th Minute to score in the corner, MK lead 20-5.
Again Ampthill come back with a vengence and a well drilled backs move leads to another try by Ampthill out wide putting the score in the 60th Minute at 20-10. Then again in the 67th Min to put them just behind at 20-15.
MK recover the ball from the kick off and switch it outside allowing the forwards to control the ruck, Ashley Targett makes the slip back inside and score another MK try to put the score in the 73rd Min at 25-15.
