The super 2s put in a performance that befits the name.

Great team effort!

The super2s put in a performance that befits the name. This was a truly team effort with 1-16 all putting in a fantastic shift.
I may not get the right order of the tries but I am old!
I think the first try was down to great forward pressure, quick ball from the break down out to the backs, Keith who as always had battered there team ran a great dummy line that made space for the ball to go out to Stuart Phipps to race in from 40 Metres.
The visitors battle hard throughout the game but the Milton Keynes forwards had brought there A game today and Matt Higham assisted by the rest of the pack and scored the second.
The game restarted and the forwards did the hard yards with Ben Fisher running over people for fun.
We had a lineout 25 metres out which with the ever improving Marc Rawlinson throwing, getting us great ball the backs did a pre-set move which Tim Parkinson hit a great line showing his class to score under the posts.
More hard work from the forwards with Kieron Moore carrying on his good form and Zac Kahn having his best game for the club. We were camped on the Bedford try line the pressure was immense and Michael Fitzgerald hassled the mistake out of there 10 to score the first of his brace.
The next try was from strong running from Ben Fisher again breaking the line and the ball being shipped to Tim Parkinson to race clear again.
To be honest I can’t remember Tim’s third I think I may be blocking it out!
The second half was much of the same Zac showed what a great guy he is by stepping aside so Rob “The Dick “McGeehan could play the second half and Rob like always did not let anyone down.
The pace and guile of Stuart Phipps was a menace all afternoon and he deserved his 4 tries as did are inspirational leader who hassled all afternoon and rightly got his second try a fine solo effort. Even when 50 points up the Cry was to keep it to nil and the boys stood their ground and gave everything.
The final try of the day was a break down the right when I was cut short the ever eager for was on hand showing great desire in the last few minute, he took the ball and set up Joe Fitzgerald to race over the line.
Dan jones boot was on fire and made the score what it was with some breath taking kicks, he also bossed the pack all day and distribution was first class.
Like I said early a truly great team effort with Fraser Cummings and Josh Hannam maybe not getting the headlines but they did the donkey work hitting loads of tackles and always in the thick of it.
Was great to see a good crowd for the 2s especially director of rugby and the Club Chairman that said it was the best performance of any team this season. Even the old guys that have been following us for years did not say I played shit and that the team was fantastic so that’s good enough for me!
Last point “dick of the day” went to Michael Fitzgerald for being put on his arse by the Bedford fullback and we have photographic evidence.
