Coaches Code of Conduct

Be reasonable in your demands on young players? time, energy and enthusiasm. Remember that they have other interests.

Teach your players that the rules of the game are mutual agreements which no one should evade or break.
Goup players according to age but ensure you take account of ability and experience.

Avoid over playing talented players.?Average? players need and deserve equal time.

Remember that children play for fun and enjoyment and taht winning is only part of it. Never ridicule or yell at the children for making mistakes or losing a game.

Ensure that equipment and facilities are appropriate to the age and abilities of the players.
The scheduling and length of practice times and games should take into consideration the child?s maturity level.

Develop team respect for the ability of opponents as well s for the judgement of referees and opposing coaches.

Follow the advice of a doctor when determining when an injured player is ready to play again.
Remember that children need a coach they can respect. Be generous with your praise and set a good example.

Parent Code of Conduct

Do not force an unwilling child to participate in sport.

Remember, children are involved in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.

Encourage your child always to play by the rules.

Teach your child that honest effort is as important as victory so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment.

Turn defeat into victory by helping your child work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship. Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing a game.

Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud good play by your team and by the opposing team.
Do not publicly question the referee?s judgement and never his or her honesty.

Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from childrens sport.

Recognise the importance of volunteer coaches. They give up their time and resources to provide recreational activities for your child.

The club respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status.

The club is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse.

All club members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.

The club will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, according to club disciplinary procedures.
